Welcome Cookiemaster!
Rather than slaving for Jerkhovah or Satan, I suggest slaving for the other cookiemaster...
Hey, if we have to slave for some fictional being, go with a jolly gift-giver!
hey guys !
i've stopped believing the watchtower crap a few years ago.
i achieved this on my own, despite being raised as one.

does anyone know why people say as jws you can't have guns.
i've asked people at the hall and they say jws aren't supposed to have guns.
i asked them why, and they all say just because we're not supposed to.
Officially, WT just prohibited JWs from taking jobs where they would be required to carry firearms like police or armed security. It was because of the possiblity for bloodguilt.
Lots of opinions would drift through the congregation. I knew plenty of JWs that had guns and hunted. But they would never mention it to the CO unless they were sure he wouldn't freak out and make an issue of it. I knew of other congregations where the general view was the JWs should not possess firearms at all. For the conflicting opinions, they'd pick-and-choose scriptures and WT quotes to support their side.
a while back my fil was on a kick about earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes.
after bombarding him with actual facts showing the wts is full of shit when declaring these activies to be increasing in frequency he's now dropped that subject.
of coure he never admitted to being wrong..haha.
JWs generally treat evolution as if it's an argument they've already won and have to reason to even discuss. If someone wants to discuss evolution, the JW will just give them a colorful brochure. If they still believe in evolution or question the material, well, obviously that person isn't a right-hearted sheep. Frankly, the WT material is garbage because it is designed to tell you what questions to ask and ignores every other issue about dinosaurs, mosquitoes, etc.
my daughter-in-law's father has been assigned a part on the assembly where he has to interiew 3 children.
problem is...there is only one child in his congregation.
half of his congregation is over 60 years old.
Here's the WT fix:
Just dress some of those elders to fit the part.
this morning's wt study almost made me vomit, stand up, pick up my bag and rush to the door.. of course it never happened.
instead, i was able to make some nice drawings on my tablet and notepad.. if you replace the name jehovah with watchtower, or the governing 8 men, it would really make sense.. what's up with all that nonstop guilt-mongering about education and having a decent job?!.
most people look down on the uneducated, and i remember, when i didn't have a job, nobody cared!.
"According to one of the local young brothers, whoops I mean brown-nosers, advanced education is okay IF it is used ONLY for the WTB&T$ in the form of free labor. Now I wonder who in their right mind.....Oh, I answered my question already.....never mind."
I knew plenty of kids that worked toward degrees with the justification, "I'm getting it so I can get into Bethel!" Some went. Many did not. It was a good excuse, "fake it 'til you make it." After they got their degree, there was no bethel app turned in. (I wish I would have been one of these.) They got on with life, either inside or often outside the bOrg. I think that's why WT changed it's stand from "in many places, advanced schooling is necessary to get sufficient wages to support pioneering/family/etc." back in the 90s. They saw enough kids leaving that they had to stick their WT study farticles in the "higher education" hole in the dike.
i conducted the wt study tonight on higher education.
i wondered what the reaction of the bros and sis would be.
there was no deviation from the idea that a university education is not a good idea.
hijo, Indeed, hang in there with your studies! As a suggestion, keep a journal during this phase. That's one of the things I wish I would have started sooner. Write down the stupid stuff they say. No need to respond to their nonsense, just write it down for future reference.
One of the things I found was that when someone was going to school, they'd be condemned... but when they graduated, the dubs would line up to try to take advantage of your new skills or better income.
I didn't get asked this much: 'How was the meeting?' Because my response would be along the lines of: "Not many scriptures were used." Or if something might have been directed toward me, I twist, "I noted a lot of different opinions. The material must have been awkward for Sis. X who has a degree and drives an expensive car. Have you talked to her about the value of simplifying her life?" Or in this case, "I've noted that many of the friends are going to worldly educated doctors, should that be stopped?" I'm not an arguer, but some remarks I just can't resist.

"The writer of this article may not have had a good night's sleep when he wrote this article. He made a couple of conflicting statements in paragraph 3 that made no sense."
These articles go through a series or writes/rewrites in the Writing Department. One of the guys that wrote some articles could hardly recognize the product that was published almost a year later. As I got more involved with headquarters, the more I realized that what they put together often lacked continuity and wasn't well planned, thought through, or delivered.
i went to get my annual shearing done the other day, as people kept standing on my hair.
as i sat waiting for the guy in the chair to have his three or four hairs trimmed, i realised he was a young jw that i knew.. as he left the chair he had to turn around and face me, so could not ignore me, we spoke briefly and then he went.. the barber then asked if i was a jw too, as i knew the young feller.
i replied that i had been brought up as one, and a load of questions followed.
We used to think that everyone had such admiration for us JWs because we were so "special." I've come to see that most were looking on us with pity and confusion.
please welcome jen1 to the jwnforum.
she posted for the first time on my thread 'making connections.
' let's all please encourage her!!!!.
Welcome!
"oh my goodness no new clothes for the assembly Sunday meeting shame on you."
LOL. You can wear whatever you want when you post here.
my story is long, heart stopping, tragic, and puzzling.
since i posted what was said to be my last post, i received a private message which sparked my attention about the watchtower.
immediately i did research, and have found not only proof from outside sources, but the watchtower openly admitting it.
Welcome back! Sorry to hear about the loss of your father.
